Psykoterapi - med hest som hjelpemiddel

NB: vår og sommer aktivitet

This specialised form of therapy takes place in a natural environment, either in the stable, outside in a paddock or on a walk, where the client interacts with the horse both from the ground and from horseback. No previous experience with horses is necessary, and the horses used are carefully selected for their safe and therapeutic qualities.

The horse's unique sensitivity to emotions, body language and energy makes it an invaluable therapeutic partner. They respond directly to clarity, respect and kindness, and meet people without judgement. The horse is not concerned with how you look or who you are, but honestly mirrors how you communicate and interact. This mirroring provides valuable insights that can help identify and change unfortunate patterns in behaviour and relationships.

Through practical activities with the horse, the client becomes more aware of their own emotions, body language and relationship dynamics. This form of therapy promotes the development of clear and respectful communication, which can be directly transferred to interaction with others in everyday life.

Psychotherapy with horses is used to great effect for children and adults who are experiencing demanding life situations, such as parental breakdown, death or serious illness in the family. The therapy provides a safe and supportive framework for processing grief, building trust, strengthening self-esteem and finding ways to cope.

In addition, this form of therapy is particularly suitable for treating anxiety, depression, trauma and relational challenges. Working with the horse provides a unique opportunity to explore themes such as self-assertion, contact with one's own emotions and the development of inner security. The interaction with the horse often provides a sense of mastery and joy, which strengthens the motivation to deal with complex and difficult issues.
